The road association and HOA board members are working diligently to align on a plan to repair the collapsed culvert before Winter weather begins, to minimize the risk of a more severe incident making the road inaccessible to the community. The repair is complex and is taking some time to ensure the culvert repair is done correctly.
We did confirm that the culvert is collapsed and is beyond repair, requiring the entire culvert to be replaced as soon as possible. Unfortunate news, during the assessment, the outlet side of the culvert was exposed which increases our sense of urgency for an immediate repair due shift in weather soon to come.
We have one bid from a local private construction company called Currie Construction. Currently the road association is evaluating the type of material used to prevent erosion and potential upsizing the culvert to ensure that we are prepared for peak volume flows during 10-year winter storms.
We are hoping to start the road repair as soon as late September and complete the work in the October 2025 timeframe to avoid opening up the road during rainy weather which would complicate the repair.
If you have any questions about the repair or status, please reach out to your HOA president for the latest information.
